The committed & compassionate working with the oppressed & ostracized
BODHI provides a framework for altruistic people who are not comfortable working in traditional religious or secular organisations. No religious affiliation is necessary to work with BODHI; in fact, many of our directors and advisers are Buddhist, Christian, Jewish and atheist. More are welcome. We ask only for a kind heart. Being fully independent of government grants allows us freedom of choice in our projects, so we can go where the need is greatest. People affected participate in identifying problems and their solutions. BODHI is fully tax-deductible in both Australia and the United States.
BODHI works with local partners at a grassroots level in eight South and Southeast Asian countries on innovative health, education and environmental projects in developing countries that fall through the cracks of traditional aid. We particularly try to work with the marginalised.
